Rideshare

Are you interested in ridesharing in Vermont? In addition to the money you’ll save, one of the biggest advantages of registering with Vermont Rideshare is their Emergency Ride Home program. When you carpool or vanpool at least two days a week, if your car or van is disabled, if you miss your ride, or if your driver can't make the trip, Rideshare will pay up to $50 for an emergency ride, up to eight times a year.

Upper Valley Rideshare. No longer just for the Upper Valley, this program serves carpoolers in 170 Vermont and New Hampshire towns in: Orange, Windsor and Windham VT counties, the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region, and the Route 10 & 120 corridor towns from Littleton to Keene in NH. Please click here to register for carpooling anywhere, including to the Park & Rides that CRT commuters use.

Vermont Rideshare. The Vermont Rideshare program promotes carpooling by helping you find a carpool with other riders or drivers. We post carpool classified ads on the Rideshare website. These ads and Vermont Rideshare’s marketing efforts improve the prospects for Vermonters who want to carpool. We also maintain a database of commuters who are interested in carpooling. Commuters who enroll receive a "match list" of others who have similar commuting patterns. Members then contact each other directly to set up a carpool. To register for Rideshare go to their website, www.vermontrideshare.com, or call (802) 295-1824 ext. 21.

Benefits of carpooling include:

  • Increasing mobility
  • Reducing air pollution
  • Cutting fuel consumption
  • Decreasing traffic congestion, and
  • Offering alternatives to the single occupant vehicle
